Information
The
United Nations Association UK
The United
Nations Association of the UK is a voluntary, membership-based non-governmental
organization. We campaign, educate and fundraise to help turn the ideals
of the United Nations into reality. However, UNA-UK does not necessarily
believe that the UN is perfect and beyond criticism. It is our job to
ensure that the UN is used more effectively, efficiently and creatively
in all the areas where it works.

the entire regional community.
UNA
Youth
We are
young people, college and university students across the UK, who form
the youth section of the United Nations Association - an organisation
founded in 1945, even before the UN itself was fully formed. Our aim
is to get young people more involved in global governance, and foster
greater awareness and understanding between people and cultures. We
share an interest in issues and concerns related to the United Nations
including Human Rights, the Environment, Conflict Prevention, Health,
Sustainable Development, Education, and Building a Culture of Peace,
and work to further these goals. We work to promote increased public
awareness and debate of these crucial international issues.
World
Federation of United Nations Associations - a People's Movement for the
UN
The mission
of the World Federation of United Nations Associations is to inform,
sustain and energize a global network of United Nations Associations
to support the principles and programs of the United Nations and to
help shape its agenda.
Global
Policy Forum
A group
of citizens from several countries founded Global Policy Forum in December
1993 to monitor global policy making at the United Nations. At a time
of rapid globalization, when nation states are weakening, the founders
of GPF wanted to promote a more open, accountable and democratic policy
process at the global level. Seeing the UN as the most open and universal
institution, they sought to make it more responsive to citizen concerns,
and so to foster democracy, social justice, human rights and mutual
solidarity.
