Held 12th Sept 1956 - Presided over by Mr Lawrence Election of Officers of the House:- House Captain - Gardner Price of House badges 1/- obtainable from the Secretary. Mr Lawrence noticed a lack of Hymn books amongst members. Meeting Held in the Hall on 18th September 1956 - Presided over by Mr Lawrence At this meeting a swimming captain and a basket ball captain were elected. Thomas was elected for both posts. Swimming entries were colleceted. In this swimming competition we were 2nd to Wyndham. The hymn book situation was noticed to be better but some members did not pocess House Badges. Meeting Held on 2nd & 4th of October 1956 in the Gym - Presided over by Mr Lawrence We were in the gym because the workmen were repairing the floor in the Hall. The question of House
Badges was again raised by Mr Lawrence. Meeting Held on the 17th of October 1956 in the Hall - Presided over by Mr Lawrence The question of badges was again raised and it was said that house badges would be available at the next House Meeting. We were asked to elect a Chess Captain but no nominations were forthcoming so members were asked to consider possible nominations for the post. Mr Lawrence asked if the singing could be improved, as the singing was bad on the day of the House meeting. It was stated by Mr Lawrence that members of the school had been placing their bicycles in the cycle shed, which was allotted for the cycles of staff only. Meeting Held on the 31st of October 1956 in the Hall - Presided over by Mr Cudlipp It was announced that a basket ball practise had been arranged for 1.15pm on that day in the gym. Players from this practise would be picked and they would play against Hopton on the Friday. Chess captains were elected and the Senior Captain was Bailey and the Junior Captain, Shareham. Meeting Held on the 14th of November 1956 in the Hall - Presided over by Mr Lawrence The result of the basketball match was told to the House and we were defeated by 17-11. A list of boys without House badges was taken. |
